The college is privileged to have Youth Red cross Unit. It organizes various awareness and service camps round the year. The volunteers participate in various camps outside the college.
The unit mainly works in four core areas like
- Dissemination of Red Cross Principles
- Promotion of Health and Hygiene
- Service to mankind
- Promotion of Friends
RED RIBBON CLUB
In collaboration with OSACS, the college has a Red Ribbon Club, which mainly works for generating awareness regarding HIV / AIDS among the Youth . As a part of this the unit organizes awareness campaign among the students and public through rally, distribution of leaflets and meetings. Blood donations and Blood Grouping camps are organized regularly. As an innovative programme the unit observes Rakhi Bandhan in a different way. This day is also observed in generating awareness against HIV/AIDS. On this day the volunteers tie Red Ribbon Rakhi on the wrist of volunteers, members of Staff and public.
The unit has the potential to be one of the best women units of the state.
ECO CLUB
As a part of its commitment towards protection of global Enviornment,the unit established an Eco club.The volunteers are recruited from among the students of the college.The club regularly sensitizes the volunteers,students,members of staff and the public as well.Plantation drives are undertaken round the year and specially during rainy seasons. The club acts locally as apart of global mission of International Red Cross Committee..
Not only plantation,the club also emphasizes on water management,water coservation,proper use of electricity etc. The students are taught to switch off electric lamps,fans etc when are not in use. The girl students are encouraged to make kitchen garden at their homes. Keeping in view of restoration of enviornment,the students& members of staff are sensitised to protect enviornment not in words but in works.
